EliteXC: Destiny
EliteXC: Destiny was the inaugural mixed martial arts event by the mixed martial arts organization EliteXC. The event took place on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi. The main card aired on Showtime, with the undercard was streamed live on the Proelite.com website.
History
The first EliteXC Event ("Destiny") was announced unnamed on November 13th, 2006. The fight card was finalized with less than one month to go before the debut event. The televised portion of the fight card included: Frank Shamrock vs. Renzo Gracie in the main event. Wesley Correira vs. Antonio Silva in a super-heavyweight bout; middleweights David Loiseau vs. Joey Villasenor; women’s Gina Carano vs. Julie Kedzie; and lightweights KJ Noons vs. Charles Bennett.
The undercard of EliteXC Destiny was streamed free of charge via ivtasp.com starting at 7 P.M. EST. Heavy site traffic stopped a number of fans from viewing the fight, but many others were able to successfully view the event. As well, an "online chat" that was displayed under the message board, but numerous users complained in various message boards that 1) their comments were not getting through and 2) the comments that were getting through were either "plants" or hand-selected to be pro-EliteXC.
The event drew a 1.62 household rating on Showtime.[2]

- Pyle defeated Ebanez via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) at 1:55 of round 1.
- Vazquez defeated Pereira via Split Decision.
- Berto defeated Shackelford via TKO (Punches) at 2:27 of round 2.
- Fukuda defeated Gates via Submission (Punches) at 1:18 of round 1.
Main Card
- Bennett defeated Noons via KO (Punch) at 3:43 of round 1.
- Carano defeated Kedzie via Unanimous Decision.
- Villasenor defeated Loiseau via Unanimous Decision.
- Silva defeated Correira via TKO (Strikes) at 3:49 of round 1.
- Gracie defeated Shamrock via Shamrock being disqualified for knees to the head of a grounded opponent at 2:00 of round 2.[3]
